Antivirus removed the miner
Compute programs like mining engines are often flagged by antivirus rules — deleted, or blocked from running. The log will say the antivirus deleted the mining engine.
One-click allow (recommended)#
- Open System Settings on the left of the client and find Antivirus is deleting the miner.
- Click One-click allow Vminer and confirm the administrator prompt. It adds the Vminer folder to Windows Security's exclusions.
- Go back to the home screen and click Start again. Missing engines download again automatically.
If one-click allow didn't stick, check three things#
- Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings.
- On that page confirm: - Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions already contains the Vminer folder. - Tamper Protection: if one-click allow failed, turn Tamper Protection off here by hand (no program can turn it off), then click One-click allow Vminer again in the client.
- With 360, Huorong, Kaspersky or other third-party antivirus, also add the Vminer folder to its own trusted list.
An exclusion is the lasting fix; real-time protection that you switch off temporarily gets turned back on by Windows.
Avoid tampered packages#
