System requirements & supported GPUs
PC#
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- A dedicated GPU: NVIDIA or AMD. The stronger the card, the more it mines.
- Changing the power limit needs Vminer to run as administrator; fan control doesn't.
What NVIDIA and AMD cards can mine#
The full pool × engine table is on the home page. Once you pick a pool, the client lists only the engines your GPU can use.
Hashrate reference#
How much each GPU mines and at what power: see the GPU hashrate table — medians from rigs currently mining in our fleet, refreshed hourly, not vendor claims.
Laptop GPUs can mine too, and are often more efficient per watt (lower power limits). Watch cooling under sustained load.
Drivers#
- Keep the GPU driver reasonably up to date. If it's too old, the log shows errors like "driver version is insufficient" — fixes are in Error messages & fixes.
- No separate CUDA install is needed.
